Clumping litter is not the only option, and plenty of cats and owners get on fine without it - the trade-off with a non-clumping mineral litter is that you change the whole tray more often rather than scooping out clumps daily. Kittyfriend's Classic litter is built on that older, simpler model.

It is made from Spanish Sepiolite, described as a natural mineral that is highly absorbent and works to control odour, rather than a synthetic clay or a clumping formula. Because it does not clump, used litter does not form solid pieces to lift out - the tray is generally emptied and refreshed as a whole rather than spot-cleaned.
