Brand: Kapok
Material: recycled materials and vegetable based inks, so it is 100% safe to chew

Full description

A cage full of loose bedding and a separate hide-away box takes up more room than either needs to on its own, which is the gap this two-in-one product is built to close.

This is a Kapok two-in-one product: soft kapok bedding inside packaging that folds, with a few quick folds, into a small hut once the bedding has been removed.

Soft kapok bedding material
Packaging folds into a critter hut after use
Made from recycled materials and vegetable-based inks
Described as 100% safe to chew

A gap in the specs. as with the other Kapok fold-up toys, no weight or finished dimensions are given for the hut shape once assembled - only that it's built from the same packaging the bedding arrives in.

Who it's for: owners of small pets who want both bedding and a simple hide in one purchase, rather than buying the two separately.

Why we chose it

A hut gives a small animal somewhere to retreat to, and getting one out of packaging that would otherwise be thrown away is a genuinely efficient piece of design rather than a gimmick. The recycled materials and vegetable-based inks also make sense for something that might well end up being chewed.
