A parrot fed one seed all week is a bored parrot, and boredom in a bird that can crack a Brazil nut tends to end up expressed on the cage bars or its own feathers. Johnston & Jeff's answer is variety rather than a single grain: this mix names sunflower seed, safflower seed, whole maize, whole oats, peanuts, monkey nuts, pine nuts, chillies and more, so a parrot is choosing between textures and flavours rather than picking through the same thing twice.

It is described as a traditional, sound base mix made to an enhanced formula — no analytical breakdown of protein, fat or fibre is given on this pack, which is common for seed mixes sold on ingredient variety rather than a formulated nutrient panel. What you do get is the full list: striped and white sunflower seed with safflower seed, whole maize, whole oats, paleskin peanuts, monkey nuts, pine nuts, chillies, flaked maize, flaked peas, puffed maize, puffed wheat, naked oats, buckwheat and red dari.

What the label does not say. No protein, fat or fibre percentage is published for this mix, so you cannot compare it nutritionally against a formulated pellet food the way you could a dog kibble — this is a traditional seed blend, judged on ingredient variety rather than an analysis panel. There is also no minimum age or species restriction beyond "parrot" named on the pack.

Who it's for: owners feeding a parrot who want a varied, traditional seed mix with genuine ingredient breadth, rather than a single-grain feed or a nutritionally-formulated pellet.
