Full description

Getting a whole tick out, mouthparts included, is the difference between a clean bite and one that keeps a fragment embedded under the skin. Squeezing or yanking at the body tends to leave that fragment behind, which is the specific problem a hooked tool is built to avoid.

Johnson's Tick Remover has two hooked twisters, one at each end, sized differently so the right hook can be matched to the size of tick. The hook slides in under the tick from the side, and two or three rotations of the twister lift it away — the design is specially made and manufactured in the UK, with a European Registered Design number. It is suitable for use on dogs, cats, horses and other animals.
