One thing worth knowing
Halti's own page gives sizing as Small, Medium and Large via an image rather than a printed cm chart, and no material is specified for the straps on this listing — so match it against Halti's size guide image rather than this description, and remember a headcollar should never be left on a dog unattended.
Why we chose it
The camlock adjustment is the reason we'd pick this over a plain buckle headcollar, because it's one adjustment point rather than four to get right. It's specifically aimed at the in-between noses that don't suit Halti's standard headcollar, which is a real gap it fills rather than just another size in the range.

Full description
A headcollar only does its job if it actually fits the shape of the nose it's on, so a lot of "my dog won't tolerate a headcollar" stories are really stories about the wrong fit rather than the wrong idea.
The Optifit's noseband and cheek straps adjust independently and are secured with a camlock, which is what lets it fit a wider range of nose shapes than a standard headcollar rather than one fixed profile. A cushioned noseband and reflective cheek straps sit alongside a strong safety clip at the front, which attaches to the dog's own collar as a backup point. Halti recommend pairing it with their Training Lead for extra control.
- Adjustable noseband and cheek straps, secured with a camlock
- Cushioned noseband
- Reflective cheek straps for low-light visibility
- Front safety clip attaches to the dog's collar
- Not recommended for dogs under 9 months old
- Not suitable for flat-nosed breeds

Who it's for: owners of dogs over 9 months old who pull on the lead and haven't got on with a standard headcollar, as long as the dog isn't flat-nosed.
