How to measure
- Measure the snout circumference about 2-3 cm below the eyes, around the widest part of the muzzle.
- Measure the snout length from the tip of the nose to just below the eyes.
- Use the circumference first; the breed column is only a rough guide.

Measurements are the manufacturer's own figures, in inches with their centimetre conversions. Their ranges overlap between neighbouring sizes (for example S is 22-25cm and M is 24-27cm) - we have reproduced them exactly as printed rather than tidying them up. A muzzle must allow your dog to pant and drink, so if between sizes, size up.

Full description
A muzzle is a kindness when it is the right one, and this is a soft mesh sleeve rather than a basket, which narrows what it should be used for considerably. It holds the mouth closed, so it does its job at the vet's table or at the groomer's for a few minutes at a time. It is not a walking muzzle, and any listing that tells you otherwise is wrong.
The mesh is light and breathable in the sense that air passes through it, and the strap adjusts and fastens behind the head so the sleeve stays put without pressing on the eyes. Ten variants cover sizes from extra small to extra large in black or grey, and the whole thing weighs under fifty grammes. It wipes clean, folds flat and lives in a bag or a glovebox for the day it is needed.

Short, supervised use only, and here we disagree with the manufacturer. A sleeve muzzle holds the jaw shut, and a dog who cannot open its mouth cannot pant, which is how dogs cool themselves down. Do not use one on a walk, in warm weather, or for longer than a few minutes, and never leave a dog alone in it. If your dog needs a muzzle for exercise or for training in public, buy a basket muzzle that allows panting, drinking and taking treats.
