Indoor toilet trays get abandoned for one reason, and it is rarely the dog. It is the owner discovering that a flat tray means a dog standing in what they have just done, then walking it across the kitchen floor. A raised grid over a collection tray solves precisely that: waste drops through, paws stay on a dry surface, and the mess sits contained underneath where it belongs.

The grid lifts straight out for rinsing and the tray below slides free to empty and wipe, which is the entire design in a sentence. Nothing has to be dismantled and there is no closed corner holding liquid where a cloth cannot reach. That simplicity is what decides whether a training aid is still in use in three months or shoved behind the shed. It suits puppy training, flats and balconies, dogs recovering from surgery who cannot manage stairs, and the stretch of winter when the garden is dark and waterlogged at both ends of the day.

• Raised grid keeps paws out of the mess
• Grid lifts out for rinsing
• Removable collection tray underneath for emptying
• Suits puppy training, flats, balconies and bad weather
• One size, one version

On sizing: no measurements are published for this tray, and that matters more here than on most products, because a toilet a dog does not fit squarely on is a toilet they will simply step off. Worth saying as well: the grid keeps paws clean, it does not deal with odour. Rinse it daily.

Who it's for: Puppy owners, and anyone whose dog does not have quick, immediate access to a garden when they need one.
