How to measure

Measure right around your dog's neck, where the collar will sit.
Add enough slack to slide two fingers under the tape.
Choose the size whose adjustable range covers that measurement.

Measurements are the manufacturer's own figures. The reference-weight column mixes units in the original chart: pounds for S and M, catties for L — 1 catty is 0.5 kg, so 50–100 catties is about 25–50 kg. Go by the neck measurement rather than the weight, and if between sizes, size up.

Full description

A hanging ID tag has two problems: it jingles all night, and it is the first thing to come off in a hedge. Engraving the details into the buckle solves both at once. The name and phone number go onto the polished gold-tone buckle itself, so the identification is part of the collar rather than something clipped onto it, and the dog wears it in silence.

The strap is soft leather, which starts fairly firm and wears in to the shape of the neck over a few weeks. That is the point of leather over webbing, and it is why a leather collar tends to be the one still in use years later while its replacements come and go. The engraving is done by laser rather than stamped, so it stays legible instead of wearing smooth, which is the usual failure of cheaper engraved hardware.
