Full description
A dog that empties a bowl in twenty seconds is swallowing air along with the food, and air in the stomach is what leads to the burping, the retching and, in deep-chested breeds, something considerably worse. Slowing the meal down is the cheapest intervention available to you. The raised dome in the middle of this bowl and the grooves running off it mean food has to be worked out in mouthfuls rather than inhaled in one go.
Capacity is 250ml, which is a modest portion by design. A slow feeder only slows anything down if the food sits in the channels rather than pooling over the top of them. The bowl is 17.4cm across and 5.7cm tall, so it stays low and stable, and the base grips rather than skating off across a tiled kitchen when a determined dog starts shoving it. It rinses out under the tap and takes wet food as readily as kibble.
