How to measure
- Width: lighter, narrower webbing for small dogs; wider, thicker webbing for strong pullers and larger dogs.
- Standard lead (1.2–1.5 m): everyday pavement walks and training.
- Long line (3–10 m): recall practice and open spaces.
- Short / traffic lead (under 1 m): close control in busy areas.

Full description
A gilet is the compromise that actually gets worn. Sleeves are what most dogs object to, and a padded body-only jacket gives you warmth across the spine and ribs while leaving the shoulders and front legs completely free, which matters most for a dog who runs rather than trots. Put one on a springer who has refused three coats already and there is a decent chance this is the one that stays on.
The shell is polyester taffeta, quilted, with the zip running up the back rather than under the belly, so it goes on a standing dog with one hand while the other holds the lead. A ring is set into the zip line for attaching that lead. Twelve prints are made, from camouflage and a blue skull print through to a pink bow, and several of the versions have pockets sewn into the back panel.
