Food is the reward everybody starts with, and it stops working at exactly the wrong moment: outdoors, at distance, with something far more interesting on the other side of the field. A toy the dog genuinely wants is the only currency that still spends at that range, which is why trainers carry one and most owners do not.

The Tuggi Helix is a woven tug with a bungee running through it and a soft neoprene handle at your end. The bungee is the part doing the work — it takes the shock out of a dog hitting the end of a tug, so the game can be played properly without the jolt going straight into your shoulder. Coachi build these as reward toys rather than chew toys: the tug is the payment for the recall, which is why they suggest keeping it for training sessions rather than leaving it in the toy box with everything else. They rate the weave as suitable for all ages and breeds, and suggest it for improving recall, discouraging chasing and interrupting play biting and mouthing.

No measurements at all have been supplied for this. There is no length, no handle size and no weight on anything Coachi have sent through, and on a tug toy length is the number that decides it, because the whole point of a tug is that your hand stays clear of the dog's teeth. It is also not a chew: a bungee inside a woven sleeve is a supervised-play toy, and a dog left alone with one will eventually get to the bungee. Coachi's own framing is that it works best if it is only ever out during training.
