A themed tank lives or dies on its props, and a pirate or shipwreck scene without something suitably morbid in it tends to look more like a rockery than a story.

These Small Skulls are part of Classic's hand-made, hand-painted polyresin range — one skull sits with a coral-encrusted barrel and the other with a pirate cutlass, and Classic say the range has been refined over more than 20 years into what they call the market-leading aquarium ornament line. The overall size is approximately 90mm long, 75mm wide and 80mm high.

• 8cm nominal size
• Approx. 90 x 75 x 80mm overall
• One skull with a coral-encrusted barrel, one with a pirate cutlass
• Hand-made and hand-painted polyresin
• Suited to pirate or sunken-treasure aquarium themes

On the paint. Classic don't confirm on this card whether the paint is non-toxic for this particular ornament (their seahorse range states it explicitly; this listing doesn't repeat it), so if that assurance matters to you, check the current packaging or ask before adding it to a stocked tank.

Who it's for: anyone building a pirate or sunken-treasure aquascape who wants a matched pair of props with a bit of story to them rather than a single generic skull.
