A newborn livebearer fry has almost no chance in an open community tank, because the same adult fish that produced it will happily eat it within the first day.

This is a floating breeding box that keeps a pregnant fish separate from the main tank until she gives birth, with a central divider that lets two pregnant females be housed in it at once. Fry drop through into segregated lower compartments as they're born, kept apart from the adult fish above. It can also be used outside of breeding, as a safe space for a wounded fish or to segregate an aggressive one.

• Floating breeding box for livebearing fish
• Central divider houses 2 pregnant females at once
• Segregated lower compartments collect and protect fry at birth
• Also usable to isolate a wounded or aggressive fish
• Sits floating in a community aquarium

What Marina don't specify. There's no size given for this box on the card, so it's worth checking it will actually fit your tank and stay clear of the filter outlet before buying — a floating box pushed under the surface by strong flow defeats the point of it.

Who it's for: owners of livebearing fish — guppies, mollies, platies and similar — who want fry to actually survive being born in a community tank, or who need a temporary isolation space for a sick or aggressive fish.
