What's not stated here
The card doesn't give a daily amount to feed, because hay isn't meant to be rationed the way a nugget or treat is — Burgess's own guidance is that it, or fresh grass, should form the main part of the diet and be available more or less constantly, topped up with nuggets and the occasional snack. There's also no note here on whether this batch is dust-extracted, which some Excel hay products are and others aren't on the cards we hold.
Why we chose it
Plain hay and flavoured hay cost about the same to stock, and the dandelion and marigold addition is a cheap way to keep a fussier eater interested in something that needs to make up most of its diet. It's still 98% Timothy hay underneath the flavour, so the fibre figure isn't compromised by the addition.

Full description
A rabbit's front teeth never stop growing, which is why hay has to sit in front of it for most of the day rather than being doled out like a meal — chewing through fibre is what keeps them worn down.
This is Timothy hay at 98% of the mix, with a 2% blend of dried dandelion and marigold added for variety rather than nutrition. The fibre figure reflects the base ingredient: 33% crude fibre, with protein at 8%, fat at 1.8% and ash at 7%. Burgess state it contains no additives.

Who it's for: owners of rabbits, guinea pigs or chinchillas who want a flavoured Timothy hay rather than a plain one, to keep interest up in an animal that's meant to be eating hay most of the day.
