Some dogs treat a toy as a problem to be solved rather than something to be played with, and a ball this size exists specifically for the ones that would carry a smaller one straight into their jaws and destroy it.

It's made from a super-tough polyethylene that Company of Animals describe as virtually indestructible, and it's designed to be pushed and pawed rather than chewed — the instruction is nose and paws only, with no grinding of teeth on it. Sizing runs by breed: 4 inches for a Jack Russell, Westie or Yorkshire Terrier, 6 inches for a Border Collie, Bulldog or Springer, 8 inches for a Boxer, Pointer, Bull Terrier or Dobermann, and this 10-inch size for a Bull Mastiff, Great Dane, Rottweiler or German Shepherd.
