Brand: Bob Martin

Full description

A flea collar works by staying on constantly, which is the trade a spray or spot-on does not make — the protection is passive as long as the collar is worn, rather than needing repeat applications.

This is a plastic flea and tick collar for dogs and puppies from 12 weeks of age, worn continuously to repel both parasites. Bob Martin describe it as intended for everyday, at-home use.

Plastic flea and tick collar
For dogs and puppies from 12 weeks of age
Worn continuously to repel fleas and ticks
For everyday, at-home use, per Bob Martin
Single collar (SGL)

One thing worth knowing. Bob Martin's own guidance is that a heavy, already-established flea infestation needs treating separately first — a collar is a repel-and-prevent product rather than something that clears an existing heavy infestation on its own. No collar length or how it's sized to the dog's neck is given on this card.

Who it's for: owners of a dog or puppy from 12 weeks old wanting ongoing, passive flea and tick protection rather than a treatment applied to an existing problem.

Why we chose it

A collar's real advantage is that it does not rely on remembering a monthly application — it simply stays on. Being usable from 12 weeks also means it covers a puppy through to adulthood rather than needing a size or age change partway.
