Parrots kept on a plain seed diet will happily eat the same handful of favourite seeds and leave the rest, which is part of why a genuinely varied mix - different textures, shapes and flavours - tends to get worked through more thoroughly than a simple two-ingredient blend. Bestpets' Tropical Parrot Mix leans hard into that variety.

The composition runs to sunflower seed, oats, maize, peanuts in shell, an extruded biscuit made from wheat, wheatfeed, maize and soya oil, raisins and sultanas, flaked peas, maize grits, dried banana, safflower seed, shelled peanuts, white pumpkin seed, chillies, and a separate yellow biscuit made from wheat flour with added colourant. It is a complementary or treat feed rather than a bird's whole diet, and it is not grain free.
