Size guide & how to measure
A good bed lets your dog stretch out and curl up. Measure your dog nose-to-tail while they’re lying down, then add room to move.
How to measure
- Measure your dog from nose to base of tail while lying relaxed.
- Add roughly 15–25 cm so they can stretch out fully.
- For pets that like to curl, you can size down slightly for a snug, den-like feel.
| Size | Typical internal length | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| S | up to ~50 cm | toy & small breeds |
| M | ~50–70 cm | Small–medium dogs |
| L | ~70–90 cm | Medium–large dogs |
| XL | 90 cm + | Large & giant breeds |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact dimensions.
Full description
A bed that only fits one place in the house earns its keep slower than one that goes wherever the animal does. Bestpets built this fleece mattress to move between a carrier, a crate and the floor, so it's one purchase rather than three different beds for three different spots.
It's made from a soft fleece fabric, sized for small dogs and cats, and it's lightweight enough to lift in and out of a carrier without much thought. It's machine washable, which matters more on something that ends up in a crate than it does on a sofa cushion.
- Soft fleece fabric
- Machine washable
- Lightweight and portable
- Suits pet carriers, crates, or standalone use
- Grey and white star design
- For small dogs and cats
On sizing. This comes in the "Grey & White Star" design across several sizes, and we don't have a size chart in front of us for each one — only that the range is built for small dogs and cats. If you're buying for a specific carrier or crate, measure the base before you order rather than guessing from the pattern name.
Who it's for: owners of a small dog or cat who move their pet between a carrier, a crate and the floor, and want one washable mattress that follows them rather than a different bed for each.

Why we chose it
It earns its place for being genuinely multi-purpose. Carrier, crate or floor bed, all with the same washable mattress, is the cheapest way to cover all three without buying three separate beds.
