Product description
Losing a dog is the fear that makes people buy trackers, and it is worth understanding what an AirTag does before you rely on one. It has no GPS and no mobile connection of its own, and instead borrows the location of passing iPhones. In a town that works remarkably well. Out on an empty moor with nobody around, it will show you where the tag last was, not where your dog is now.
Given that, the holder's job is simply to keep the tag on the collar and keep it quiet. This one is moulded silicone that grips the AirTag on all sides and threads onto a collar strap, sized for collars between 10 and 25cm. At 5g it adds nothing a dog would notice, and silicone does not clink against a name tag the way a hard plastic case does. Ten colourways are offered.
- Moulded silicone case for an Apple AirTag
- Fits collar straps from 10 to 25cm
- Weighs 5g
- Ten colourways
- Silent against the coat and the ID tag
- AirTag not included
Not a substitute for a name tag. In the UK a dog in a public place must wear a tag carrying the owner's name and address, and whoever finds your dog will read that long before anyone thinks to check for a tracker. Fit both. If you want live location on a dog who bolts in open country, you need a GPS tracker with its own SIM rather than this.
Who it's for: People who already own an AirTag and want it carried tidily on a collar, mostly for reassurance around town.
Why we chose it
Five grams, and soft enough that it does not click against a collar buckle all day. It threads straight onto most dog and cat collars.
