Full description
A lead you can put on without unclipping a collar first earns its place for the moments a proper lead is not to hand — a dog off its collar in the garden, a quick trip to the car, or simply wanting a light, everyday lead rather than a full walking set.
This is Ancol's Viva Slip Lead, built from strong poly-weave webbing at 1.2 metres, aimed at daily walks, outdoor activities and swimming as much as short trips. It has a leather adjuster for fit, leather-effect finishing touches, and reflective weave detailing running through it for visibility.
- 1.2 metre poly-weave webbing
- Leather adjuster for fit
- Leather-effect finishing touches
- Reflective weave for low-light visibility
- Lightweight and weatherproof construction
On what's not given. Ancol do not publish a maximum recommended dog weight for this particular lead, unlike some of their other slip leads — if you have a large or strong-pulling dog, that is worth bearing in mind rather than assuming it matches their heavier-duty ranges.
Who it's for: owners who want a light, everyday slip lead for regular walks and swimming, rather than a leash rated for maximum pulling strength.

Why we chose it
At 1.2 metres it is a genuinely practical everyday length rather than an oversized spare, and the reflective weave means it doubles as a low-light lead without needing a separate hi-vis accessory. It is part of the same Viva range as our other leads and collars, so colours and styles match up.
