Heavy-coated breeds don't shed evenly across the year, they tend to drop it in one concentrated wave, and a standard brush barely dents an undercoat that's decided it's time to go.

This is a moulting rake built for exactly that job: it works into the undercoat and pulls away loose hair, brushed gently in the direction of fur growth, starting with light pressure and increasing it only as the dog stays comfortable.

• Effective moulting tool
• Aimed at heavy-coated breeds
• Removes loose fur from the undercoat
• Brush gently in the direction of fur growth
• Start with light pressure, increase gradually
• Widely recycled cardboard packaging

On technique. the makers recommend starting gently and building up pressure only as the dog stays comfortable, and stopping the session altogether if the dog becomes agitated — it's a tool that rewards a slow first few uses rather than one heavy session.

Who it's for: owners of a heavy-coated breed going through a moulting period, wanting something stronger than a standard brush for the undercoat specifically.
