Holding a pin brush at the right angle for a whole grooming session is tiring on the wrist, and a dog that's already unsure about grooming notices the tension in your hand before it notices the brush itself.

This pad straps to the palm so the pins move with your hand's natural motion, penetrating the coat to detangle fur and lift out loose hair. The stainless steel pins have rounded ends to stay gentle on the skin.

• Straps securely to the palm
• Stainless steel pins with rounded ends
• Detangles and removes loose fur
• Suits silky, long, wiry and curly coats
• Natural stroking motion rather than a held brush

On what's missing. There's no guidance on how to handle an existing mat with this pad, and the makers simply warn not to pull or tug on matted fur — treat established knots as a job for a different tool.

Who it's for: owners of a longer or textured-coat dog who want the detangling power of a pin brush without holding a handle for the whole session.
