Full description
A cat that can't get its front legs fully extended isn't getting much out of a scratch, which is why the height of a post matters more than the fabric wrapped round it. Most of the damage done to a sofa arm happens because nothing taller was on offer.
This one is 74cm tall, wrapped in sisal rope for the scratching surface itself, with plush bases lower down for lounging and an enclosed hide built into the structure for a cat that wants to nap out of sight rather than in the open.
- 74cm tall
- Sisal rope scratching surface
- Plush bases to lounge on
- Enclosed hide for napping
- Single free-standing post
What the label does not say. the makers give us the height and the sisal covering and nothing past that — no base width, no weight limit, and no assembly instructions. If you have a big, heavy cat and want to know how stable the base is underfoot, that isn't a figure we can quote either way.
Who it's for: a cat that already scratches something taller than it should, or a household wanting one piece of furniture that offers a scratch, a lounge and a hide in one footprint.

Why we chose it
A post has to be tall enough for a full stretch or a cat just goes back to the door frame. Seventy-four centimetres is a proper height for the price, and the hide underneath means it earns its floor space even when nobody's scratching anything.
