Specifications

Brand: Vetiq

Full description

Brushing a dog or cat's teeth is one of those routines that most owners mean to start and then don't, usually because it feels like a two-person job with a struggling animal.

VETIQ Denti-Care is an enzymatic toothpaste containing Glucose Oxidase, an enzyme VETIQ say works to reduce the microorganisms responsible for tartar build-up. It's applied without rinsing afterwards, and comes in a 70g tube.

70g tube
Contains Glucose Oxidase enzyme
No rinsing required after application
Paraben free
For dogs and cats

What's not on the card. VETIQ haven't given us a brushing frequency or a specific tartar-reduction figure — their claims are about supporting gum health and managing plaque generally, not a measured percentage, so this is a maintenance product rather than a treatment for tartar that's already built up.

Who it's for: owners trying to start a dental routine with a paste that doesn't need rinsing out afterwards, which removes one of the more awkward steps of brushing a pet's teeth.

Why we chose it

No-rinse is the detail that makes this realistic for a lot of owners, because getting a dog or cat to sit still through a rinse step on top of brushing is asking a lot. It's paraben free, which some owners specifically look for in anything going in a pet's mouth daily.
