Specifications

Brand: Treat n Eat
Food type: Complementary_or_treat

Full description

A wild bird's daily calorie need can outstrip what it forages in a short winter day, which is the whole argument for keeping fat balls topped up rather than running out halfway through the season.

This is a single 90g high-energy fat ball from the Treat 'N' Eat range, sold individually (the price shown is for one fat ball) and supplied loose without the plastic netting some fat balls are sold in — netting that's a known entanglement risk for birds' feet and beaks. Each fat ball is a standalone treat meant for a bird table or a dedicated fat ball feeder.

Sold individually: one 90g fat ball per item
Supplied without plastic netting
High-energy formulation for wild birds
Suits placing on a bird table or in a fat ball feeder

One thing worth knowing. Add as many as you need to your basket to keep a feeder topped up. No full ingredients list has been supplied to us beyond "high energy" and "netless".

Who it's for: anyone feeding garden birds who wants loose, netless fat balls rather than net-wrapped ones.

Why we chose it

Buying a box of 100 at once is the cheaper way to keep a feeder topped up all season rather than restocking every few weeks. Going netless also avoids the entanglement problem that comes with the wrapped versions, which matters more than the price.
