A hamster in the wild spends a large part of its day cracking open seed and nut shells rather than eating food that's already been shelled for it, and a mix with some whole-shell peanuts in it gives a caged hamster a bit of that same work to do.

Harry Hamster's Fruity Nutty Mix is built from whole maize, soya bean meal, toasted wheat, extruded wheat and timothy hay, with named inclusions of peanut kernels at 3%, dried apple at 1% and peanuts in their shells at 1%, alongside sunflower seeds, linseed and dried carrot flakes. Tiny Friends Farm's own guide is 5-10g a day for an average adult hamster.
