Specifications

Brand: Tetra

Full description

Cloudy pond water usually isn't algae — it's fine dirt particles suspended in the water column, and treating it as an algae problem is the reason some products don't work as expected. Tetrapond Crystal Water is built specifically to clear that dirt rather than to fight algae.

It works on suspended particles, pulling them together so the pond clears rather than staying hazy, and Tetra say it works within hours of dosing. It isn't suitable for use where sturgeon-like fish are kept.

500ML bottle
Clears suspended dirt particles for visibly clearer water
Works within hours of dosing
Not suitable for use with sturgeon-like fish
Should not be relied on to combat algae

One thing worth knowing. This product treats cloudy water caused by suspended dirt — it is explicitly not for algae, so if your pond has gone green rather than murky, this isn't the bottle to reach for. Tetra also specify checking your pond's carbonate hardness (KH) is 6°dH or higher before dosing.

Who it's for: pond keepers dealing with hazy, dirt-cloudy water who don't keep sturgeon-like fish, and who want a clarifier rather than an algae treatment.

Tetrapond Crystal Water

Why we chose it

It solves one specific problem: cloudy water from suspended dirt. That's narrower than a do-everything pond treatment, but it means it actually works for what it's sold to do.
