Specifications

Brand: Tetra

Full description

Tap water is treated to be safe for people, not fish, which is the whole reason a dechlorinator sits next to every water change bucket in a fishkeeping household. Tetra AquaSafe is built to make that gap disappear in seconds rather than hours.

It neutralises chlorine, chloramine, copper, zinc and lead on contact, making tap water safe for freshwater and marine aquariums alike. Tetra add an optimised vitamin B mix on top of the basic dechlorinating job, aimed at reducing the stress fish experience during a water change.

Neutralises chlorine, chloramine, copper, zinc and lead
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums
Contains an optimised vitamin B mix to reduce stress
Makes tap water safe in seconds

One thing worth knowing. Tetra's exact dosing rate per litre of tap water isn't fully given to us — only that it's suitable for both new set-ups and routine water changes. Check the bottle's own dosing chart before adding it, rather than guessing a quantity.

Who it's for: fishkeepers setting up a new aquarium or doing routine water changes, who want tap water made safe immediately rather than left to stand.

Why we chose it

The vitamin B addition is what separates this from a bargain dechlorinator that only strips out chlorine. Reducing the stress of a water change is worth having as standard, not as an upgrade.
