Regular water changes are how most aquarium keepers keep nitrate and phosphate down, and they are a chore in a busy week. Tetra EasyBalance is meant to stretch the gap between them.

It is added to the tank water to reproduce part of what a water change does: it adds elements that tap water lacks, helps control algae, reduces nitrate and phosphate, and stabilises pH and KH. Tetra state that with regular use you need a full water change as little as once every 3 to 6 months. It is for freshwater aquariums only.

On dosing. Tetra have not given us a dose rate against tank volume, so follow the dosing chart on the bottle rather than estimating from the bottle size. A water test kit will tell you whether your nitrate is staying where it should between changes.
