Tap water is treated to be safe for people, not fish, and topping up a pond straight from the hose puts chlorine and trace metals into water a fish can't simply avoid.

TetraPond AquaSafe treats tap water before it goes into a pond, neutralising chlorine and chloramines and binding heavy metals such as copper and cadmium. Tetra add organic colloids to protect a fish's mucus membrane and vitamin B1 to support the immune system and stress response. It comes in a 500ml bottle.
