Brand: Supa

Full description

A single-perch feeder turns feeding time into a queue, and garden birds are not known for queuing patiently — a feeder shaped to give several birds access at once tends to see far more visitors over the course of a day than one built for a single bird at a time.

Supa's Wild Bird Lantern Feeder is designed to let multiple birds feed at the same time, made in the UK. Its approximate capacity is 400 grams of mixed wild bird seed, or 300 grams if filled with sunflower hearts instead, so the same feeder works with either type of feed depending on what you are putting out.

On cleaning. Supa's own advice is to clean the feeder regularly with warm water and mild detergent, or a disinfectant solution, rinse it thoroughly and let it air dry, and to remove any uneaten or spoiled food and refresh water sources regularly nearby — a build-up of old feed is a common source of illness at garden feeding stations.

Who it's for: anyone feeding a busy garden with more birds visiting than a single-perch feeder can handle, and who wants a feeder that works with either mixed seed or sunflower hearts.

Supa Wild Bird Lantern Seed Feeder

Why we chose it

A feeder that lets several birds in at once genuinely changes how much of your seed actually gets eaten by birds rather than sitting untouched while one bird hogs the only perch. Being usable with either mixed seed or sunflower hearts also means it does not become redundant if you switch feed types.
