Specifications

Brand: Supa

Full description

A fat ball dropped straight onto a bird table gets picked apart in one sitting rather than fed on gradually, which is what a dedicated holder is there to slow down.

This is Supa's Plastic Fat Ball Feeder, designed specifically for fat balls rather than as a general-purpose fitting.

Designed specifically for fat balls
Plastic construction
Hangs in the garden

On siting: Supa's guidance is the same as for their other hanging feeders - site it away from nest boxes and out of reach of predators, and keep fresh water available nearby, since where a feeder hangs affects the birds using it as much as what's in it.

Who it's for: garden bird feeders who go through fat balls regularly and want a fitting built for exactly that, rather than a multi-purpose feeder doing an average job of several things.

Supa Plastic Fat Ball Feeder

Why we chose it

A single-purpose feeder does one job properly rather than several jobs adequately, which is worth having if fat balls are already a regular part of what you put out. It's a straightforward, inexpensive way to add a dedicated feeding point without complicating the rest of the garden setup.
