Specifications

Brand: Supa

Full description

An egg's shell is made almost entirely of calcium, and a hen has to source every bit of that from her diet - there's no other supply route.

This is an oystershell-based grit, providing a source of calcium that's absorbed into the body and used in eggshell formation, alongside general wellbeing benefits.

Oystershell-based grit
Provides a source of calcium
Supports eggshell quality
Supplied in a resealable tub to help avoid contamination
1LTR pack

On what we don't know: the listing doesn't give a feeding rate or say how it should be offered - as free-choice grit alongside feed, or mixed in - so you're relying on general poultry-keeping knowledge rather than manufacturer instructions here.

Who it's for: chicken keepers who want a calcium source specifically to support eggshell quality, on top of a hen's ordinary feed.

Supa Oystershell Grit

Why we chose it

Eggshell quality is one of the more visible signs of whether a hen's diet is doing its job, and oystershell is the most direct way to add calcium to it. The resealable tub is also a genuinely useful detail for something kept in a shed or coop.
