Specifications

Brand: Supa

Full description

A chick's digestive system has to grind solid food down without a single tooth to help it, which is entirely what grit in the gizzard is there for.

This is a fine grade of insoluble flint grit, sized specifically for chicks and growing birds rather than adult hens, to assist the grinding and digestion of food in the gizzard.

Fine grade insoluble flint grit
Formulated for chicks and growing birds
Assists grinding and digestion in the gizzard
Supplied in a resealable tub to help avoid contamination
1LTR pack

On the grade: this is specifically the fine, chick-and-grower grade - Supa also sell a separate flint grit for adult hens, and using the wrong grade for a bird's age isn't something this listing warns against, so it's worth checking you have the right one for the birds you're feeding.

Who it's for: keepers of baby chicks and growing birds who need grit sized for smaller digestive systems, rather than adult hens.

Supa Chick Flint Grit

Why we chose it

Grit does one specific job and does it badly if it's the wrong size for the bird, so a grade made specifically for chicks and growers rather than a one-size-fits-all product is worth the extra care. The resealable tub is also a small but genuinely useful detail for shed storage.
