A hen's gizzard grinds every mouthful she eats using nothing but muscle and whatever grit she's swallowed, which makes that grit as functionally important as any part of her actual diet.

This is an insoluble flint grit sized for adult chickens, required in the crop to grind food and aid digestion, effectively doing the job teeth would do in another animal.

• Insoluble flint grit
• Formulated for adult chickens rather than chicks
• Assists grinding and digestion in the crop
• Supplied in a resealable tub to help avoid contamination
• 1LTR pack

On the grade: this is the adult hen grade rather than the finer grit Supa sell for chicks and growing birds - the two aren't interchangeable if you're keeping birds at different life stages, so it's worth checking you have the right one for your flock.

Who it's for: keepers of adult hens who need grit to support digestion, as a straightforward addition alongside their ordinary feed.
