Full description

Fat ball debris scattered on the ground under a feeder attracts exactly the pests a garden bird feeding station is meant to avoid, which is what a base tray is specifically there to prevent.

This is an all-metal fat ball feeder designed to take both netted and un-netted fat balls, fitted with a base tray that catches falling debris and doubles as a supplementary feeding station. Supa advise siting it away from nest boxes and out of reach of potential predators, and to always keep a source of fresh water available nearby.

On placement. Supa's own advice is to site the feeder away from nest boxes and out of reach of predators - it isn't just a hanging spot decision, it affects how safely birds can actually use it.

Who it's for: garden bird feeders who want a durable all-metal feeder rather than plastic, with a tray to catch the mess underneath.

Supa Fat Ball Feeder & Tray

Why we chose it

All-metal construction is a genuine step up from the plastic feeders on durability, and the catch tray is a small addition that solves a real mess problem underneath. Taking both netted and un-netted fat balls means it's not locked to one specific product.
