Specifications

Size: 9 inch
Feature: Squeaker
Material: Vinyl

Full description

A squeaker gives a dog a reason to keep coming back to a toy between throws, which is most of what separates a toy a dog actually plays with from one that gets ignored after day one.

This is a 9-inch vinyl bone with a squeaker built in, from Sharples Pet's budget toy range. It's pitched at throw-and-fetch play, giving a dog an outlet for energy that might otherwise turn into misbehaviour.

On construction. No weight or material thickness is given for this one, and vinyl toys generally hold up less well to sustained chewing than solid rubber — this reads as a fetch toy for supervised play rather than one built to survive a determined chewer unattended.

Who it's for: dogs that enjoy fetch and respond to a squeaker, and owners looking for a low-cost toy rather than a premium chew.

Why we chose it

It's a straightforward, inexpensive squeaky toy that does the one job it's meant to — give a dog a reason to chase and retrieve. At 9 inches it's a decent size for most dogs to carry back without difficulty.
