Full description

A hamster's instinct to burrow and nest doesn't switch off in a cage, and bedding that's too coarse or doesn't hold its shape works against that instinct rather than supporting it.

Safe Bed Fluff is a soft, absorbent bedding made from hygienically prepared, regenerated plant fibre, designed to provide warmth and encourage natural nesting behaviour. It is sold as a single sachet: the price shown is for one sachet. Sachets come in assorted colours — white, blue, yellow and pink — so we can't promise a particular colour.

Sold individually: one sachet per item
Assorted colours: white, blue, yellow or pink
Made from regenerated plant fibre
Soft and absorbent, encourages natural nesting
Not for use with newborn animals or very small hamsters such as Roborovskis

On safety. The manufacturer is specific that this should not be used for newly born animals or very small hamsters such as Roborovskis, which is worth checking against your particular pet before use. Tear and shake out the fibre before putting it in the cage, and change it when it's soiled rather than topping it up.

Who it's for: owners of hamsters, gerbils or similar small pets (other than Roborovskis or newborns) wanting soft, nest-friendly bedding.

Why we chose it

Thirty individual sachets means you're not committed to using a whole bag at once, so it stays fresh for longer than a big loose-fill bag left open. The specific newborn and Roborovski warning is also the kind of detail that's easy to miss, so we're putting it front and centre rather than in small print.
