Pettex's Reptile Desert Sand is heat-treated and sanitised, built to recreate a close-to-natural desert habitat for desert-dwelling species. It's described as an excellent heat conductor, which helps warmth from under-tank heating reach through to the animal, and it stimulates natural digging and burrowing behaviour as well as serving as an egg-laying substrate.
