A food that works for a growing puppy and an ageing dog without changing the bag is rarer than it should be, which is what makes an all-life-stage recipe worth pointing out rather than assuming.

This is Naturediet's Feel Good Grain Free Salmon: a 390g wet food combining 42% salmon and 18% whitefish with parsnip, carrot, dried egg, potato and a trace of dried seaweed, and it's suitable for puppies from 6 months old right through to adult and senior dogs.

• Protein 10%, fat 9%, fibre 2%, ash 2.5%, moisture 74%
• Omega-3 at 1.5%
• Grain-free and gluten-free
• Suitable for puppies over 6 months, and adult and senior dogs

On the analysis: Naturediet's own product description for this recipe quotes a different fat, moisture and calorie figure to the analytical breakdown they publish, which don't quite agree with each other - we've used the analytical figures above rather than the description's, since that's the one specifically labelled as the analysis.

Who it's for: owners feeding one food across a household with a puppy and an older dog in it, or anyone wanting the omega-3 content of a fish-based recipe.
