On the hay
Mr Johnson's are explicit that this is a guide only and a complementary feed — it's meant to sit alongside unlimited hay, not instead of it. A rabbit fed this mix without a constant hay supply isn't getting the diet the feed is designed to be part of.
Why we chose it
No added pellets is a genuine point of difference rather than a relabelling exercise, and it solves a specific problem — a rabbit that won't touch the pelleted part of a normal mix. The Verm-X inclusion is worth having built in rather than bought as a separate product.

Full description
Some rabbits refuse pellets outright and pick a mix down to the pellets alone, leaving them uneaten in the bowl — which is presumably the reasoning behind a rabbit mix built with no pellets in it at all, so there's nothing to reject in the first place.
Mr Johnson's build this from flaked barley, flaked steamed peas, flaked maize, locust bean extrusions, vitaminised wheat extrusions, wheat extrusions, alfalfa, whole oats, a Verm-X herb blend and soya oil — a flaked and extruded mix rather than the pelleted concentrate found in most rabbit feeds. Mr Johnson's own guidance is explicit that this is a complementary feed, meant to be fed together with unlimited access to good quality hay, which they describe as a good source of fibre and an essential part of a rabbit's diet.
- Crude protein 14.00%, crude fibre 10.00%, crude oils & fats 2.50%, crude ash 3.00%
- Calcium 0.40%, sodium 0.10%, phosphorous 0.20%
- No added pellets
- Verm-X herb blend included
- 15KG sack
On the hay. Mr Johnson's are explicit that this is a guide only and a complementary feed — it's meant to sit alongside unlimited hay, not instead of it. A rabbit fed this mix without a constant hay supply isn't getting the diet the feed is designed to be part of.
Who it's for: rabbit owners whose rabbit picks around pellets in a standard mix, or who simply prefer a pellet-free feed, provided hay is already a constant part of the diet.
