Specifications

Brand: Mr Johnson's

Full description

A laying hen's diet has one job that a general poultry mix doesn't need to worry about — keeping egg production consistent — which is why a dedicated layers pellet exists as its own category.

Mr Johnson's Layer Pellets are described as formulated to produce a diet that is natural, balanced and nutritious, aimed at helping keep laying poultry healthy and productive.

What the label doesn't say. No composition list or nutritional analysis is published for this product on the card we have, which is a genuine gap for anyone wanting to compare it against another layers feed on protein or calcium content — there simply isn't a figure to quote here.

Who it's for: keepers who want a straightforward layers pellet without needing to compare detailed analysis figures against other feeds — though anyone who does want that detail should look at a feed that publishes it.

Mr Johnson's Layer Pellets

Why we chose it

Twenty kilos of layers pellets is a practical size for a small flock, and buying the bigger bag works out more economical than the smaller packs once you're feeding regularly. It's a straightforward, no-extras layers feed rather than one with add-ons you may not need.
