What the label doesn't say
this is a complementary food, not a complete one — Mr Johnson's own feeding guidance puts hay at 85-90% of a rabbit's diet, with this fed as a measured portion on top rather than as the main meal.
Why we chose it
It's specifically formulated for junior and dwarf-breed rabbits rather than a general adult formula, which matters at this stage. Mr Johnson's own instruction that hay should be 85-90% of the diet is worth taking seriously rather than treating this as the main event.

Full description
A young or small-breed rabbit has different needs to an adult full-sized one, which is why a junior formula tends to look quite different on the ingredient list even from the same manufacturer's adult range.
Mr Johnson's Advance Rabbit Junior is built from flaked steamed peas, a concentrate pellet blend (wheatfeed, sunflower extract, straw, sugar beet, calcium carbonate, molasses, grassmeal and more), flaked barley, flaked maize, locust bean and wheat extrusions, dried carrot, lucerne, a Verm-X blend and soya oil. It comes out at crude protein 15.00%, crude fibre 10.00%, crude oils & fats 3.00%, crude ash 4.00%, calcium 0.90%, sodium 0.20% and phosphorous 0.20%. It is a complementary food, suitable for junior rabbits and all dwarf breeds, and Mr Johnson's own guidance is that hay should make up 85-90% of the diet, with this fed as a measured portion alongside fresh greens.
