Cats fed the same single protein for months sometimes develop a sensitivity to exactly that one, which is one practical reason to rotate a diet across several meats rather than settle on one for life — alongside the more obvious benefit of a fussy cat staying interested.

Every pouch in this box is 93% meat. Two of the four recipes are detailed on our card: Paw Lickin' Chicken (43% fresh deboned chicken, 25% chicken broth, 25% fresh deboned beef) and Top-Cat Turkey (28% fresh deboned turkey, 25% fresh deboned beef, 25% turkey broth, 15% fresh deboned chicken); the other two in the range are salmon and surf-and-turf recipes, though their exact composition isn't captured on our card. Across all four, the analysis is consistent: 11% protein, 5% fat, 1.5% fibre, moisture 80%, with taurine added at 800mg/kg. It's grain-free, and Meowing Heads give a feeding guide by weight — for example, a 3kg cat gets around 1.5 pouches a day.

• Top-Cat Turkey: 28% turkey, 25% beef, 25% turkey broth, 15% chicken
• Protein 11%, fat 5%, fibre 1.5%, moisture 80% (all four flavours)
• Taurine added at 800mg/kg; grain-free

What the label does not say. We have the full composition for two of the four flavours in this box — the salmon and surf-and-turf recipes aren't broken down on our card, so we can't tell you their exact meat percentages, only that the overall analysis (protein, fat, fibre, moisture) is the same across all four.

Who it's for: owners of a multi-cat household or a fussy eater who wants genuine flavour rotation across a box, built on a consistently high meat content.
