A dog that pushes their bowl around the kitchen floor is not being difficult. They are chasing food up a slope, and the answer is almost always weight rather than a rubber ring — a bowl that does not move is a bowl the dog can lean into.

This is stoneware, which is where the weight comes from, in Mason Cash's Woof design: a matt upper section over a natural-look base and text, done in a wax resist finish. The shape is angled rather than straight-sided, which Mason Cash say makes eating more comfortable. It measures 20cm across by 6.7cm high and holds 1.3 litres, and it is dishwasher safe.
