A dog with a temporarily upset stomach is one of the more common reasons for a late-night search rather than a same-day vet call — most of the time it settles on its own, but "most of the time" isn't much comfort while it's happening.

This is a sachet supplement, not a medicine: Johnson's say it helps with loose bowel movement and aids the restoration of natural bowel movement, alongside essential vitamins and minerals, for dogs over 12 weeks of age. It comes as two sachets in the pack.

On knowing when to stop waiting. Johnson's describe this in general terms — an aid for digestive disorders — without naming a specific cause, so it isn't a diagnosis or a cure for anything. A dog with diarrhoea that doesn't settle within a day or two, or that seems unwell alongside it, needs a vet rather than a second sachet.

Who it's for: owners of a dog over 12 weeks old with an occasional loose stool, who want something on hand for a short-lived, mild upset.
