Full description
Long or dense-coated dogs turn a routine brush into a genuine chore the moment tangles set in, and once a mat has formed properly, no shampoo is going to undo it — the goal with a coat like that is stopping tangles forming in the first place, not fixing them afterwards.
This 5 litre trade-size shampoo is built to revitalise the coat while helping prevent knots and tangles from forming, and Johnson's say it conditions, cleans and beautifies the coat at the same time. It's suitable for all breeds.
- 5 litre bottle
- Revitalises the coat
- Helps prevent knots and tangles
- Conditions, cleans and beautifies
- Suitable for all breeds
On existing mats. This is a preventative, conditioning shampoo — it isn't described as a de-matting treatment, so a coat that's already knotted or matted will still need proper brushing out, or clipping, rather than expecting the shampoo alone to release it.
Who it's for: owners or groomers regularly washing long or dense-coated dogs who want to stay ahead of tangling, rather than dealing with mats after they've already formed.

On existing mats
This is a preventative, conditioning shampoo — it isn't described as a de-matting treatment, so a coat that's already knotted or matted will still need proper brushing out, or clipping, rather than expecting the shampoo alone to release it.
Why we chose it
Prevention is the honest way to think about a tangle-prone coat — once it's matted, a shampoo isn't going to undo it, so this is for staying ahead of the problem rather than solving it after the fact. Buying it by the 5 litres only makes sense for a coat type that genuinely needs washing this often.
