Tuna is one of the few flavours that reliably tempts a cat that has gone off its food, and Hi Life split this box across two versions of it rather than one: four pouches of Tuna Flakes in Jelly and four of Tuna with Mackerel in Jelly, both made with dolphin-safe tuna.

The plain tuna recipe is 50% dolphin-safe tuna with sunflower oil, yeast extract, minerals and tapioca starch; the tuna-and-mackerel version drops tuna to 35% and adds 15% mackerel alongside the same base. Across the pack, protein comes out at 12.5%, fat content 3.5%, crude fibre 0.1%, crude ash 1.2% and moisture 82%, with calcium at 0.26%, phosphorus at 0.24% and an energy value of 84 kcal per 100g.

• 8 x 70g pouches: 4 Tuna Flakes in Jelly, 4 Tuna with Mackerel in Jelly

On completeness. Hi Life do not state on this product whether it is a complete or complementary food, the same gap as their pâté range — check your cat's overall diet is balanced across the day rather than assuming a pouch on its own covers it.

Who it's for: owners of cats that respond well to tuna and fish flavours, who want two related recipes in one box rather than a single-flavour multipack.
