A cat that turns its nose up at the same pouch every day is not being fussy so much as sensible, which is why Hi Life split this multipack across two recipes rather than one. Four pouches are Chicken Dinner Pâté and four are Chicken with Beef Pâté, giving a cat two flavours in the same box without you having to buy two separate packs.

The Chicken Dinner Pâté is built on 50% chicken, with yeast extract, tapioca starch, sunflower oil, minerals and small measured amounts of cranberry, chicory and yucca extract; the Chicken with Beef version drops chicken to 46% and adds 4% beef alongside the same base. Across the pack, protein is 9.5%, fat content 4.5%, crude fibre 0.1%, crude ash 1.2% and moisture 84%, with an energy value of 80 kcal per 100g.

• 8 x 70g pouches: 4 Chicken Dinner Pâté, 4 Chicken with Beef Pâté
• Chicken Dinner Pâté is 50% chicken; Chicken with Beef is 46% chicken, 4% beef
• Protein 9.5%, fat content 4.5%, moisture 84%
• Energy 80 kcal per 100g
• Taurine included at 410mg/kg

What the pack does not say. Hi Life do not state on this product whether it is a complete or complementary food, which matters if you are relying on it as your cat's only meal rather than a topper — check your cat is getting a balanced diet across the day rather than assuming this pouch alone covers it.

Who it's for: owners who want two chicken-based flavours in one multipack rather than buying single-flavour boxes, for a cat that gets bored of the same pâté every day.
