A feeder that scatters half its seed onto the lawn is doing as much for the local mice as it is for the birds it's meant for, which is really an argument for a base that catches what falls.

This Henry Bell feeder is built from aluminium and finished in black, sharing the same construction as the rest of their heavy duty range — an all-in-one base for extra perch space and debris collection, plus a drainage feature to stop feed sitting in standing water. It's named for sunflower feed specifically, within Henry Bell's wider seed feeder range.

• Aluminium construction, black finish
• All-in-one base with extra perch space
• Collects feed debris
• Built-in drainage
• Part of Henry Bell's heavy duty feeder range

What's not distinguished on the card. Beyond the name, Henry Bell haven't told us how this sunflower-specific feeder actually differs mechanically from their general seed feeder — no port size or capacity is given for either — so if the distinction matters to you, it's worth confirming with the product photos before assuming one design difference or another.

Who it's for: garden bird feeders wanting a sturdier aluminium feeder over a plastic one, and specifically feeding sunflower hearts or seed.
